The Birth Center
Before you even arrive at the birth center, you will have had close contact with the midwives throughout early labor. During labor, fetal heart tones and vitals will be assessed, ensuring everyone is coping well with labor. You are encouraged to eat, move, and rest as inclined. The birth center space is for you and your family to make your own. Support and affirmation will be provided throughout labor to suit your individual needs. Families and partners are welcome to be involved in the process. In the immediate postpartum period, we will assess everyone’s transitions and recovery, provide newborn feeding support, and complete a comprehensive newborn exam. Clients can expect to stay at the birth center 3-4 hours after giving birth. After that, the midwives will continue care for you and your newborn the very next day, from the comfort of your home, with our integrated postpartum and newborn care.
Pain tolerance feels different when you’re in control. We’ve created an environment to foster confidence, keep you in control, comfortable, and feeling supported by an exceptional team that has gotten to know you and your family’s desires for birth. Other Soft Corner birth center comfort amenities include access to a deep soaking tub for labor and/or birth, nitrous oxide, birth and peanut balls, and tens units, just to name a few.
